Anxiety Disorders (Anxiety is an emotion characterized by the anticipation of future danger or misfortune, along with excessive worrying. It can include behavior aimed at avoiding situations that cause anxiety. This class includes generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder and phobias).
Depressive Disorders (These include disorders that affect how you feel emotionally, such as the level of sadness and happiness, and they can disrupt your ability to function. Examples include major depressive disorder and premenstrual dysphoric disorder).
Bipolar Disorders (This class includes disorders with alternating episodes of mania and hypomania periods of excessive activity, energy and excitement and depressive episodes)
ADHD (This class covers a wide range of problems that usually begin in infancy or early childhood, often before the child begins grade school and continues until adulthood. ADHD affects both social interactions and academic performances of most individuals diagnosed with this condition).
Schizophrenia (Schizophrenia is characterized by significant impairments in the way reality is perceived and changes in behavior related to: persistent hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking and behavior. People with schizophrenia often also experience persistent difficulties with their cognitive or thinking skills, such as memory, attention, and problem solving).
OCD (These disorders involve preoccupations or obsessions and repetitive thoughts and actions. Examples include obsessive compulsive disorder, hoarding disorder and hair-pulling disorder (trichotillomania).
PTSD: PTSD can develop after exposure to a potentially traumatic event that is beyond a typical stressor. Events that may lead to PTSD include, but are not limited to, violent personal assaults, natural or human-caused disasters, accidents, combat, and other forms of violence. PTSD affects 7.7 million adults or 3.6% of the U.S. population. Women are 5x more likely to be affected than men.
